AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware Awarded NCQA Interim Health Plan Accreditation

AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware, a Medicaid managed care health plan serving Delawareans using Medicaid and long-term services and supports, announced today that it has been awarded an interim health plan accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
Health plans with an interim accreditation have been determined by NCQA to have basic structure and processes in place to meet expectations for consumer protection and quality improvement. Organizations awarded this status undergo a full survey within the following 18 months to demonstrate they have executed those processes effectively, at which point they will be eligible to receive full accreditation.

AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware began service in January 2018. In the past year, the plan has expanded its network of health care providers and implemented value-based contracting programs to meet the needs of each provider.
To better serve members, AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware opened its Community Wellness Center in Bear in January 2019. The center provides Community Health Navigators and case workers opportunities to meet directly with Medicaid recipients; help them navigate the health care system; manage chronic diseases; and connect with local social service agencies for assistance with non-medical matters such as nutrition, GED completion, and job placement and readiness.
“We will continue to expand and evolve to meet the needs of those most in need,” Lawson said.
